A Mother’s Story & Her Daughter’s Beginning

Qantu Staffing was inspired by a Peruvian single mother of two who came to the US in 1997 at the age of 27. She was a woman whose ambitions were in the medical field. In 1986 she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing as a foreign RN. When she left her country, she was the first in her family to come to the US in hopes of fulfilling her dream to bring a better life for her family. In the US, she began her journey as a caregiver in Utah, eventually moving to California where she became a CNA and soon married after. In the year 2000, she had her first daughter.

As years passed, she opened her daughter’s eyes to the world of saving lives, providing care for others, and the opportunity of helping not only patients but workers in the field. In 2010, her mother starts her own in-home care agency in which has now been established for 10 years. Her mother is currently an SA-C and is pursuing her education to be a Nurse Practitioner. Growing up alongside her mother in the medical field, she was inspired by her mother’s story of how she became a self-made entrepreneur. Her daughter would then follow in her mother’s footsteps to becoming the first CEO of her own company, Qantu Staffing.

Qantu Staffing acquired its name through the love and inspiration the owner had for her Peruvian roots. Part Incan she wanted to honor her lineage. The Cantuta is the national flower of Peru which is also called the “Sacred Flower of the Incas.” The Cantuta flower bears the colors red and yellow symbolizing “people’s unity” as well as green standing for “hope.” Qantu is the original name of the flower from the Incan language, Quechua. In choosing the name, Qantu Staffing, the owner’s mission is to bring unity throughout the medical field by providing healthcare workers from across the country to bring hope to all of those who are in need. With the values that the mother bestowed upon her daughter, she will continue to carry her mother’s legacy.
